Homeopathy is a scientific system of healing discovered in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann; a German physician who had become disillusioned with the techniques employed by the doctors of his time. He had given up the practice of medicine until he discovered in homeopathy a principled way to help people heal gently, rapidly, and reliably.

Because of this law of similars, it is essential that the whole pattern of symptoms be understood. A homeopathic perspective views a person’s health as a condition of the entire individual rather than in terms of isolated symptoms. Homeopaths therefore do not diagnose disease or treat diseases.
To understand the totality of symptoms a homeopath needs to evaluate the person’s total state of illness, level of health, level of vitality the person experiences, and their emotional well being. Symptoms in a homeopathic perspective are any limitation to the freedom of the person, whether mental, emotional, or physical. Symptoms are the conversation from the vital force, seen in totality, that the homeopath listens for and which informs the remedy selection.
Since homeopathy is used to assist people rather than to treat illness, anyone can benefit from homeopathic care. |
